Galapagos day 2

Anything you can do with a banana,
You can do much better with an iguana”
-Charles Darwin

Following an early start to scrub the decks,
we jump into a zodiac and view Isabella Island from the ocean-sightings include: penguins,
flightless cormorants,

various boobies,

Nazca Boobie for Ella

tortoises,

marine iguanas,

pelicans,
fur seals etc.

We then have our first taste of snorkelling-observing seals, turtles, penguin, cormorants and lots and lots of fishies. All very exciting.

After lunch we land on Fernandina Island which is swarming with marine iguanas, crabs and sea lions. The iguanas like to disguise themselves as rocks so one must watch one’s step as they can take a man’s leg off with one bite-we are told they are actually vegetarian but we do not believe that for one moment.
